STEM Mentorship Program

LEAD mentorship program is in 3 phases;

Phase1 – Delivering mentoring workshops in Primary school (standard 5 – 8) around the following topics:

• Educating them on the importance of education
• Encouraging them to focus on science, technology and mathematics subjects
• Establish the STEM quiz where the winners will walk away with prizes
• Encouraging the winners to set up science projects
• Organizing an ICT workshop, where trainings on ICT  

Phase 2 – Delivering mentoring workshops in secondary schools around similar topics as in phase 1 but will also include academic and career mentoring and help them to choose the right suited career options. The students will also be assisted in their university application form and support them in trying to secure funding for their studies.

Phase 3 – The girls/boy who have been mentored by LEAD and who have gone on to university will be paired with a mentor in the career area of their choice for 121 mentoring. The mentors will help them navigate through university and also facilitate opportunities for the girl/boy to gain work experience.

The girls/boys in this phase will also mentor the cohort in the phase 2 and provide insights around their own navigation of secondary school.
